Plan your travel

Bread&Net 2025 will take place in a central area in Beirut, Lebanon. Once you complete your registration, we’ll share the exact venue location and details with you via email. In the meantime, start planning your trip with the information below.

Lebanon is accessible via Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY), with direct flights from cities across Europe, West Asia, and North Africa. We recommend arriving at least one day before the event begins to settle in and explore the city.

Depending on your nationality, you may need a visa to enter Lebanon. We encourage all participants to check the visa requirements on the Lebanese General Security website.

If you need support in acquiring a visa to Lebanon, feel free to contact us at info@breadandnet.org.

Beirut is a relatively small city, and it's easy to get around by taxi, rideshare apps (Uber), or even on foot in some areas. That said, we recommend staying in Hamra—a lively, walkable neighborhood near the event venue. Hamra offers a wide selection of cafés, restaurants, shops, and hotels, and it gives you a great feel for the everyday rhythm of the city.

While you're in Beirut, take some time to soak in the city's vibrant energy and layered history. A few local favorites to check out:

Beirut National Museum
Home to some of Lebanon’s most impressive archaeological finds.

Pigeon Rocks & the Ain Mraisseh Corniche
Great for a walk, a coffee, and a classic Beirut sunset photo.

Mar Mikhael, Gemmayzeh & Badaro
Lively neighborhoods bustling with cafes, bars, and art spaces.

Sursock Museum
Modern and contemporary art inside a beautifully preserved old villa.

Souk El Tayeb (Saturdays)
A weekly farmers’ market with local food, crafts, and community vibes.

Waterfront
Rent some bikes and explore Beirut's vibrant streets and alleys.

Burj Hammoud and Hamra
Hit these neighborhoods for local Lebanese and Armenian dishes.

If you're planning to stay a few extra days, consider exploring beyond Beirut with these easy day trips or weekend escapes:

Byblos (Jbeil)
One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, with ancient ruins, a picturesque harbor, and beautiful beaches.

Batroun
A laid-back coastal town known for its clear waters, citrusy lemonade, and vibrant summer nightlife.

Tripoli
Lebanon’s second-largest city, rich in Mamluk architecture, traditional souks, and incredible street food. Don’t miss the soap khan, the citadel, or a bowl of local moghrabieh.

Chouf Mountains
A cooler escape with cedar forests, scenic hikes, and peaceful villages like Deir el Qamar and Barouk. Great for nature lovers and those wanting a break from the city.

Volunteer

Want to be part of Bread&Net behind the scenes? Volunteering is a great way to support the event while connecting with like-minded individuals passionate about digital rights.

We’re looking for volunteers to help with various tasks, both online and on the ground in Beirut. Whether it’s assisting with logistics, providing technical support, or helping participants navigate the event, your contribution makes a difference.
